Dormer Conversion - Bristol
Side by side dormer loft conversions, one finished and one completed to shell stage.

This project involved two adjacent terraced properties, owned by neighbouring clients who chose to carry out their dormer loft conversions at the same time.
By delivering both projects concurrently, the clients were able to reduce overall costs compared to undertaking the works separately. Completing the conversions side by side also allowed us to maximise internal space efficiently, particularly around the shared party wall.
Both lofts underwent standard dormer conversions supported by ridge steels and new floor steels. The existing party wall chimney breasts were removed to open up the layout and create more usable floor area within each property.
Each loft was designed to form a spacious master bedroom with eaves storage and a well proportioned bathroom. Large Velux roof windows and dormer face windows were positioned opposite one another to improve natural light and encourage airflow throughout the space. Stairwell rooflights were also introduced to open up the landing area and create a brighter, more generous feel.
One property was completed to full internal finish, including plastering and final detailing, while the second was delivered to shell stage internally, ready for insulation and further finishing by the client. Externally, both dormers were fully completed to match the existing rooflines and surrounding properties.
Delivering two structurally demanding projects simultaneously required careful coordination and planning, but the result is a pair of loft spaces that integrate seamlessly into each home.
